This is a lovely set for the chess player seeking an entry level wooden chess set that will not break the bank. The chess board is moderately sized is crafted from walnut veneer with a solid walnut wood border. Walnut is a hard wood which is highly desired for its rich, dark hues. The unweighted wooden chess pieces are carved into the traditional Staunton style.

I like this set it’s very basic and gives an old school chess set vibe. Packaged nice in a styrofoam to protects pieces and board.
